- Complete the Online Alabama Notary Training Course
- Contact the probate judge in the county of your residence. You can locate your judge from the website
www.sos.state.al.us/AdminServices/NotaryPublic.aspx
- After you furnish the appropriate information to the judge and pay the fee of $1.00 and you will be appointed as a notary.
- After you are appointed, send a COPY of your commission to Notary.net and order you stamp and seal. (Request a journal if you have not already purchased one)
- You must file a bond of $10,000.00, payable to the State of Alabama, and have it recorded in the judge’s office before you begin you duties as a notary.
- In case of death, resignation, removal or expiration of your commission, the journal must be delivered to the judge within 30 days. (Failing to do so is a $100.00 fine)
